Application : Panda Solutions creates relational databases or stand alone programs. The former
are developed with either Microsoft "Access" or Corel "Paradox". The stand
alone programs are either given as a "MDE" file or make use of the run-time version
of Corel "Paradox" (given free of charge) "MDE" is the acronym for Microsoft Database Executable file, which can be generated from Microsoft "Access", once the database file (.mdb extension) is finalized. In this format the source code is locked and the database is non editable. Similarly a run time version of the program generated in Corel "Paradox" will also not be editable. Depending on the contract, Panda Solutions will deliver the final application with an open source code or not. Skeleton : This is when you request Panda Solutions to develop a database with a limited number of tables and forms, but no further customization of this application or you request a basic interface to connect to an instrument via a serial port, that you can later add, at leisure, the functionality you are specifically looking for. Instruments : Often in a technical field, you need to collect data generated by instruments (pH meters, temperature loggers, mV meters, mA meters, etc.) All too often these instruments are connected to a PC via serial (COM) port. Panda Solutions can develop the interface that communicates with the instrument. This interface can then be deployed within the framework of a program or customized to suit your needs. Balances : Often called also scales; these weighing instrument may have a serial port connection and can communicate (2-way) with a PC. Manufacturers of balances (Mettler-Toledo, Precisa, OHAUS, Sartorious, Denver, etc.) have built into the balances (to a lesser or greater degree) software with command structures to both instruct the balance to perform a function and to deliver data back to the serial port . |
